RRB Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern & Detailed Selection Process
The selection process for RRB NTPC (Graduate Level) involves four sequential stages designed to evaluate general awareness, logical reasoning, numerical ability, and post-specific technical/skill requirements.
1. Stage-1 Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
CBT-1 is common for all posts and serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for CBT-2 (15 times the number of vacancies).

2. Stage-2 Computer Based Test (CBT-2)

3. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) & Typing Skill Test (TST)
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Applicable for Station Master and Traffic Assistant posts. Candidates need to secure a minimum T-score of 42 in each battery segment to qualify. Final merit gives 70% weightage to CBT-2 and 30% to CBAT marks.
- Typing Skill Test (TST): Qualifying in nature. Applicable for Junior Account Assistant – Typist and Senior Clerk – Typist. Candidates must type 30 WPM in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a computer without editing or spellcheck tools.
4. Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination (ME)
Based on performance in CBT-2 (and CBAT/TST where applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for Document Verification, followed by a mandatory Medical Examination matching the requisite medical standard (e.g., A-2 for Station Master, A-3 for Goods Guard/Manager, C-2 for Clerical posts).
